Future Medical Professional Scholarship - Class of 2024

The goal of the O+FS Future Medical Professional Scholarship program is to recognize and award future medical professionals within the greater Portland Metropolitan area by supporting the next generation of young medical professionals within our community. 

The Future Medical Professionals Scholarship will award 3 future medical professionals with a $1,500 scholarship to be used towards furthering education and thus can be used for classes, books, transportation, housing or as deemed otherwise by the student. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a High School Senior
  • Must be interested in joining the medical field following collegiate graduation and be able to showcase their interest within an essay.
  • Must be attending a school in one of the following school districts: Portland, Beaverton, Tigard-Tualatin, Lake Oswego, West Linn OR a private school located within one of the aforementioned districts.
  • Be pursuing a full- or half-time degree in a medical field of study. 

How to Apply:

  • Write a one-page essay explaining your interest in and commitment to pursuing a medical career.
    • Points to discuss within your essay:
      • Why are you interested in the medical professional field and any applicable experience related to this decision
      • Your future plans in regard to college and/or medical employment
      • Goals and aspirations of your future in the medical field
      • What sets you apart from other applicants
    • Please include:
      • List of extra-curricular activities
      • Colleges/schools you plan to attend
      • Intended degree/major and minor if applicable
      • Other scholarships you have been awarded as well as any financial needs you may have
  • Submit essay, unofficial transcript and a completed application form (PDF below) to: scholarship@oandfs.com no later than 5 PM on  MAY 1st 2024 

Essay materials and transcripts will remain confidential however, O+FS reserves the right to publish the name, high school, intended schooling and a photograph of all scholarship awarded winners on its web and print publications as well as promotional materials.
